Next Gen Athlete KC was born from care — not just for athletes, but for the children behind the jerseys.
The organization was founded by a Black mother who found herself overwhelmed while trying to understand the competitive sports and recruiting world. Like many parents, she had questions that felt urgent and emotional: Where does my child need to go? What should he be working on? How do I make sure I do not unintentionally limit his opportunities?
Those questions revealed how fragmented and confusing the recruiting process can be for families. Too often, parents are left guessing, athletes are treated like numbers, and important details get missed.
Next Gen Athlete KC exists to help athletes get prepared academically, athletically, emotionally, and professionally. Scholarships and exposure matter, but so do grades, confidence, readiness, support, communication, and the ability to thrive once the opportunity arrives.
